A Question of Images

I wouldn't write off sites like this, WoW is starting to get gimmicky and coin hungry. That tends to drive away players looking for realism and fair play. When you start to hear stories of destroyers pening the citadels of battleships you know things are off. At any rate people will still need sites like this to release their creative works.

Russian Ships for 1948

To me 60 aircraft on 12,000 tons doesn't seem off, when you consider U.S.S. Wasp with an additional 2,000 tons displacement carried 20 more aircraft than the Russian design. Full load displacement on the historical Wasp is 1,200 tons more than the Fidonisi which carries a much lighter armament. The more important question is what type of hangar does Findonisi have, open or enclosed. THAT will have more effect on the airgroup size than tonnage. After all, Japan got 48 aircraft on an 8,000 ton Ryu...

A Question of Images

Thanks BigRich for the additional site info, that one was not listed on wiki and it sounds like something I might like to use. I agree that photo bucket's decision to charge for 3rd party hosting was a bad move, kinda like using a sledge hammer to remove old stock in a china shop. While I've seen error messages on the internet when looking for pictures I have never seen it on the scale I have since Photo bucket made this choice. its beyond me why they would do such a drastic change instead of tr...

Belgian Submarine Design Competition

When I think coastal or ocean going I think more in terms of the role rather than size, which itself is usually dictated by the role and the specifications set by the nation building it. Atlantis for example labels subs with longer range fleet subs so naturally shorter range subs fall into the coastal category. Range and armament dictate the size of the ship but role dictates the range. Atlantis sort of mirrored the British desire to have subs fast enough to screen the battle fleet and, as the B...

Peru??

With regards to the restriction of Peruvian navigation on the Amazon, nothing was ever set in stone as Peru at that time was NPC but it was generally agreed between players in the region that Peru's navigation would be restricted to civilian transport only as a result of the Peruvians adventurism in Leticia. No time limit or details were given however. Colombia wished to push for territory across the river from Leticia and further extend the southern "foot' down to the Brazilian border near Esti...

Moving Forward

Well to be honest my own lack of participation really comes from the insane amount of work I have been doing to my new house, which is starting to slow down. I will make an attempt to start catching up and most likely will have more time on my hands after Christmas.

Dutch ships desappeared....

Yup, not just those ships but U.S.S. Houston has shown signs of salvage along with HMS Repulse and Prince of wales. HMS Exeter is also gone(!) while HMS Electra and HMS Encounter are almost completely salvaged as well. The U.S.S. Perch is also missing and even WW1 German and British wrecks have been pillaged. This actually makes my blood boil to be honest..... https://www.theguardian.com/world/2016/n…enging-java-sea
