Renault AMC-35

Renault AMC-35 Fast Tank
Based on the Russian T-30 fast tank series (itself based upon Christie prototypes), the AMC-33 and AMC-35 tanks were license-built by Renault during the early 1930s. The AMCs were preferred by the French cavalry branch, which gave them the designation AMC (Auto-Mitrailleuse de Combat or "combat armoured car") to skirt a prohibition about the branch using actual tanks. Two versions were made, equipped with either the 37mm SA18 L/21 gun or the much more powerful 47mm SA35 L/32. With nearly nine hundred vehicles built, this was one of the most common armoured vehicles of the 1930s, although they were not often in the public eye.
