The Mansion House, Dawson St., Dublin

The New Year's party was in full swing, the assembled diplomats chattting, and dancing to the music of the Band of the Garda Síochána.

The midnight hour had passed with the usual cheers and handshaking, and Alfie looked down on the assembly with no small feeling of pride.
The party had gone remarkably well, but it was starting to show the first signs of winding up.

He made his way down through the party-goers, and made his way towards the exit, so as to personally thank his guests for attending.

The Atlantean, German, Iberian and American delegations all departed within a few minutes of each other, followed by the French and the Danes.

Alfie was still smiling over the quip the Danish Ambassador had made about not holding that "little tiff" some 923 years ago against the Irish,
when one of the ushers darted back into the hall.

"Your Excellency, you are needed outside!" he blurted, looking quite ashen.
"Michael, steady yourself man!" replied the Lord Mayor, bracing the man by the shoulders. "What's the matter?"
"It's the Danish Ambassador, Sir. He slipped on the top step and has fallen on the French Cultural Attache." said Michael, regaining his composure.

"Jesus, Mary and Holy Saint Joseph!. Are they all right? asked Alfie as he started to push past the usher to get outside.
"The Frenchman seems ok, but the Poor Ambassador seems to have hurt himself quite badly", replied Michael,
"I'll fetch the St.John's boys!" he cried as he ran out get help.

Normal for some though!

Maybe it was the Lyran wine the Atlantean diplomat brought with him.....oops! That stuff needs to come with a warning label!

I would think that the French Cultural Attache, (being the much cliched military man),
is actually trying to work out if he flipped the Ambassador too hard as his combat training kicked in,
before realising what had actually happened was a simple accident.
