What about a powered version launched like the Fa-330? Launched like a kite, and powered up and flown away once airborne, landed like a conventional autogyro?

The wing loading on that would be horrendous when not in rotor borne flight!!!

You dont need a catapult for a gyro even non jump gyros can probably take off from the quarterdeck of a stationary cruiser. Australia will use mostly small disposable gyros as a cheap ASW and Artillery Spotting plataform. Gyro-glyders will be used aboard small escorts, while merchants might get larger full size gyros. However these are just plans. But I think Autogyros have a lot of untapped potential.
