I expect that Ireland for all its miss givings will use British Calibre guns, i.e a 4.5in DP on that Sloop

Switched to the 4.7in DP (the gun on the British F-class destroyers).

Given her size, I'd ponder a pair of 4" guns instead of the mixed main battery she currently has. Or possibly a pair of the 3.7" guns that the Brits used on some of their recent cruisers.

Gah!

...oddly, this reworking ends up having the same light tonnage as the predecessors. Beam decreased, BC is now .38, and range has gone up.

Hmmmm......

Interesting!!

I had fears of all the usual stereotypes.....
Turf power......
Whiskey fuelled......
Armoured Cattle Carriers.....
....But I am happy to see you have avoided these!!

A few points if I may, not on the designs, but on the names.....

The names on the sloops are perfect!!

I don't remember the Naval Service having any vessels named after cities, but I like the idea.
Just one possible problem though, Kilkenny isn't coastal as are all the others, if this was the lineage you were following.

All Irish Naval Service vessels carry the prefix "L.E." = "Long Eireannach" (Irish Ship)

They didn't have any, no. I chose to name the minesweepers after the largest Irish cities, which is how Kilkenny got on the list.

I'd love to show off the Eire, which shall be the INS flagship... but not just yet. I have some other miscellaneous designs, including some home-built MTBs, and a hatful of ships for the upcoming Irish Lifeboat Service.

Should the Irish Naval Service ever be faced with an emergency similar to the Great War, with submarines preying on commerce, a set of ASW-focused escorts will be built. At the moment, with this political climate, these vessels are unlikely to be built.

Design essentially ripped from a US Tacoma-class Frigate. Hull is shorter and thinner, though - I couldn't get a 303x37x14 down to 1,200 tons.

In real life, we did lose some in WW2, even when the Tricolour was painted on the hull, fore and aft.

Yup. But without a World War II on the horizon, Irish Neutrality will insist: DO NOT WANT!
