The battleships Libertie and Justice have been launched by the naval yards in La Rochelle. The heavy cruiser Téméraire was laid down in La Rochelle as a replacement for the heavy cruiser Suffren, which is undergoing a conversion to a light training carrier. Construction on the carrier Ocean is proceeding apace, with most materials now added to the ship, which will finish in 1941; construction on Bucentaure, and Conquirant is progressing rapidly and these two ships should be completed on schedule in 1942. The light cruiser De Grasse is taken into the yards for a comprehensive refit and conversion to a minelaying cruiser, with the remaining ships of the class to be similarly refitted either as floatplane carriers or minelaying cruisers. Five mine warfare ships of the Faucon class begin their refit period, with the remaining five to follow; two new vessels of the Aubepine class are started.

The eight De Grasse-class cruisers will be rebuilt over the next two years as minelaying cruisers or as floatplane-carrying cruisers. One ship will enter refit per quarter. The Rolands will follow.

Since it appears the eight ships were never named, Agent has accepted these suggestions for them, reusing the names of several retired ACRs:
De Grasse
Dupleix
Georges Leygues
Jean de Vienne
Edgard Quinet
Waldeck Rousseau
Ernest Renan
Jules Michelet
