Summary
Two submarines, Bradan Feasa and Pooka, are sold to Turkey to finance new construction. To replace them, the new training submarine Bradan Feasa is laid down in Galway, constructed, and launched in the final week of May. This submarine is designed and constructed with British assistance due to an agreement with the Royal Navy. Another "Dog" motor gunboat is procured. Payments continue to the US for the cruiser Salt Lake City.
