Rocky may have a point, there. I'd be interested to see if there's anything historical which had a similar beam and centerline torpedoes.
I have checked the larger sort of destroyers (Sumner, Shimakaze, Akitsuki) and find that they are considerably more narrow in the beam. Changing it to two triples on the beam makes very little difference in the design parameters, so no harm, no fault, I think.
