Excerpt from a speech given by General (ret.) Khosro Parviz to the Imperial defense council

... the IDC has built its security policy on two pillars the league of Nations and the SATSUMA alliance which have both failed us in the recent crisis of Azeri aggression, the League sided with the aggressor while our allies in SATSUMA gave lukewarm support. This means that we have to consider a new direction for our foreign policy and security policy, the Indians are letting the UKN dictate borders and policy in Arabia no doubt because of their close ties to their Dutch allies in South Africa, as you all know we received threats during the recent disturbances that nations that publicly have no interests in Persia would "restore order" which we all know what it means....

... it is my firm belief that we should leave the League of Nations and limit our involvement in SATSUMA and instead seek bilateral security arrangements with friendly nations to ensure the security and territorial integrity of Persia or we will once again find ourselves having a new Turkmenchay or Bucharest dictated once again...

....Persia has no army and can not build an effective army but we still have something to offer other nations, that is a strategic position, petroleum and other minerals as well as a small but professional navy...

Methinks the General (ret.) is suffering from PDS (Persian Denial Syndrome): "We should rule the world, but don't. Obviously it's everybody's fault but ours."

Persia had an army but scrapped it and brought in a load of Indians and other Satsuma troops when the King had a paranoia attack. Now that seems like a bad idea... (just like the British government predicted months ago)

Not easy to see many friends outside the region that would rush to its defence. Given previous policy a deal with FAR is out, NATO is out, AEGIS also out, Russia out, Turkey out.

Britain could offer some securities in return for oil. We have investments to protect in Persia. We have no territorial ambitions on Persia yet we also object to an expansion of Persia into other people's territory.

Isnt the UK NATO?

Thursday, September 11th 2008, 1:42am

Yes, but the UK alone can do things that others in NATO (ie, US, Mexico, Atlantis, etc) would not be willing to.
