Greetings

I just recently discovered SpringSharp which led to my discovering you guys. Currently I'm most interested in historic actual ships, I'm just purchased NWS's Steam and Iron game which sims the WW1 naval period which also lets you design the ships you fight. So I have a couple of questions:

1) Is the 2004 version of SpringSharp what you are using for your ship designs or is there a newer version or perhaps another such program? I have spent some time searching the net and SpringSharp seems to be the only such program - which seems incredible.

2) Is there some way, other than searching through 70+ pages of posts, to pick out the real-world historic ships here?

3) Having designed your ships, do you guys have a way to test them in combat?

Thx for any info. :)

Moved this to the correct place.

Greetings!

1. We use Springsharp 2.1 here on this forum. There's a newer version, Springsharp 3 beta, but we've determined not to use it given it's current state.
2. Probably not. There are a number of close-to-historical ships, but not all of them are exact, even when the names match.
3. Not particularly.
