A mole in the design bureau?

Either that or the Japanese secret service has struck again, as this plan went missing off the desk of the chief of the Philippines Naval Design Office.

Remarks:

Relative extent of belt armor, 76 percent of 'typical' coverage.

Ship has slow, easy roll; a good, steady gun platform.

Good seaboat; rides out heavy weather easily.

Magazines and engineering spaces are roomy, with superior
watertight subdivision.

Ship is roomy, with superior accommodation and working space.

Thats odd, the Atlantian BuShips has recieved a dossier from the Japanese govt.....what ever could be inside?

Seriously though, she could likely get more armor to her secondary's and CT, and more speed. She's 1500 tons under the CT limits so you may be able to tweak the design abit.

Ehrm Wes, she´s 4619ts under CT-limits. ;o)

However, a little bit more armor on her coning tower is not a bad idea. There is some hull strength left that can be used. On her secondaries I wouldn´t put more armor. it would make them to heavy for manhandling or to train fast enough if considered DP guns.

In general she´s a good and balanced design. With 26kn she lacks speed but being the first BB she simply defines fleet speed for the Filipin Navy.

With her 10 14inch guns she´s a unique appearance in WesWorld (once build) even though eight or nine 15inchers would offer more striking power. With 10 barrels you´ve the advantage of more shells in flight of course.

While not a design the RSAN would build she´ll be an dangerous opponent to larger CT BBs - and even more so to all the old stuff still floating around.

I thought I'd reserve a little hull strength, for future modifications (more AA?).

C.T. armour - really looking just for splinter/MG protection; add more armour and 5" shells might pop through one side and detonate inside. Nice way to spoil your morning. :-/

And as for design changes; 1928 is such a long way away... ;)

Another job well done by the Okashira, who had gone out to get the plans personally. There was some slight opposition, but he quickly got rid of those pesky mercenaries.
