AC: 1(1)0

The way I understand it, that should read 2(1)0

Well given some missgivings I orriginally had about the 7th factory and my face to face meeting with Rocky himself here in Vancouver I determined that it just wasn't worth the 20 sim years to build it. Perhaps some day some kind of factory building deal can be forged with an allie, how I don't know just yet.

As for the point's already invested they will likely be transfered into other projects after some delay in converting them.

In reguards to the AC's nope its right, one AC, Muin-I-Zaffer, is scrapping so shes not in service, under refit/rebuild/repair nor is she under construction.

Eh...than what category is Ulic Ali Reis categorised under?

Too bad, she would have made a nice museum ship...

I'm still half considering building an eighth factory in ten years, but the debate on its practical abilities is in question....or if it is needed to explain certain types of construction.

Ulic Ali Reis is an AC, she is currently rebuilding, that leaves the San Marco now under lease. As for Muin-I-Zaffer, shes in horrible shape and pathetically useless.
Converting or even refitting her would be a waist of time.

Her 5.9/40 cal guns can be put to good use in coastal defence possitions. A better museum ship would be the Turgut Reis, shes a fine looking PD, but thats still a ways off. In any other navy she would likely already be scrapped but the Turks need every ship they can hold on too provided they aren't too outclassed.

My advice to anyone with a similar number of factory's as Turkey is don't bother to build new ones, Rocky has had similar doubts with India and has combat experience to prove that it can pose quite a few problems for your infrastucture should your fleet take a mauling in a breif engagement.

In reguards to Turkey I'm looking for some sort of deal that would have another country invest in a factory resulting in a much faster build time, Turkey won't always be building ships or upgrading infrastructure.
The only thing to do is to find something to offer to a larger nation to pay them with for the upgrade.

Hmmm, I wonder if the Greeks will come up with something....unpleasent, that the Turks could give them in exchange for the upgrade.

We've got this horse we think you may like... oh we've tried that before.

I concur on the factory. It is 20 years before you pull infront. Greece had a concerted effort at building 2 new factories in 1921-24 but I've done nothing in other infrastructure. Regarding action damage - Greece will have some problems too as I'm relying on using drydocks for new construction.

Cheers,

Well, I started building my Factory No.12 in Q4/25...and it won't be complete until Q3/34.

Regardless of whether it "pays for itself" or not (and how quickly), I'm probably going to go ahead with it, as I have at least three Qs in 35-36 where tonnage used is over 11,000...

EDIT: Hmm, upon further thought, if I don't build that escort carrier...

Turkey is already using drydocks to build ships, slips and drydocks will be the main focus now rather than Factorys, as they are much more important and I doubt Turkey will use more than 6000 tons a quarter.
